12/05/2005 - Greek Dance Performance and Workshop

In celebration of Hellenic Cultural Month, the Hellenic Student Association (HSA) at UofM will present a free performance, directed by Persilla Zervos, by the professional Hellenic Dancers of Toledo's Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. After the performance, the dance group along with HSA members will teach those interested how to dance to traditional and Modern Greek music. This dance workshop will be held at the Ballroom in the Michigan League, from noon until 3 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

The dance workshop is supported in part by the University of Michigan’s Modern Greek Program, the College of Literature, Science, & Arts (LSA) Student Government, and the Michigan Student Assembly (MSA).

The Hellenic Student Association aims to represent and showcase Hellenism at the University of Michigan campus; to encourage a diverse student membership, and give members the opportunity to be immersed in Hellenic culture. Hellenism is defined as the cultural heritage of Hellenes both in Homeland and Diaspora.
