Study Abroad
The University of Michigan Office of International Programs website. Study abroad is one of the best ways to gain an in-depth experience of another country and culture. The University of Michigan's Office of International Programs (OIP), a department within LS&A, administers over 80 programs, in 41 countries on 6 continents. OIP programs are designed to enrich the undergraduate experience by offering students opportunities for cultural immersion, intensive language learning, and participation in another educational system. Students earn Michigan in-residence credit for their coursework and may apply Michigan awarded financial aid to program costs.

Opportunities for Spring/Summer Study
Various opportunities exist for spring/summer study off campus - though Study Abroad, our Biological Station, our Geology Field Station in the Rocky Mountains, or studying literature at a camp on a lake in New England, or goin on an archaeological dig

Michigan Learning Communities (MLC)
Michigan Learning Communities web site. MLCs are self-selected groups of students and faculty, often from diverse backgrounds, drawn together by shared goals and common intellectual interests. Those interests can range from community service to cutting-edge research and from mathematics to communication arts.

Less Commonly Taught Languages
It is possible to study more that 65 languages at the University of Michigan. This dazzling array of offerings is one of the intellectual treasures of the University, and the core of Michigan's longstanding reputation as a leader in area studies.

Theme Semester
A group of courses, lectures, and special events, from departments across the University, provides an opportunity to examine the selected topic from a variety of viewpoints and disciplines.

LSA Internships
An internship may be a great learning opportunity and provide valuable career preparation, Think about the kind of work you will be doing and consider the LSA department that seems most appropriate. You should know that some departments have policies that allow only concentrators in that discipline to receive credit for outside work experience.
