"I chose UM because I wanted a big school, one that would give me the opportunity to switch majors and still be in a strong program."
Danielle Streisand, LSA Honors (Comparative Literature)
Chappaqua, New York
The College of Literature, Science & the Arts is a liberal arts college inside a premier, public research university. You’ll receive a broad and diverse liberal arts education that provides tremendous flexibility: from selecting among 2,000 courses each semester, having permission to be ‘undecided’, to designing your own major. This freedom combined with our resources will prepare and enable you to make informed decisions about your future.
LSA is home of the university’s natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities, and hosts over 70 departments and programs. Many of our 1,100 faculty are members of multiple departments, which allows for enhanced learning across the disciplines. LSA students can also take classes in the other 18 schools and colleges at Michigan.
