How to Make the Best Use of a College Academic Advisor
All successful and savvy college students learn to use their academic advisoron a regular basis. The things discussed with a college-level academic advisor tend to be much broader than the range of issues you took to your high school guidance counselor.

New students register for classes during Orientation. Continuing students who are already registered for the current term will be assigned a pre-registration "appointment time" by the Registrar, sometime around the 10th week of the term.

A GPA is calculated by dividing the total number of Michigan Semester Hours (MSH) elected during a term into the total number of Michigan Honor Points (MHP) earned during the same term.

How to Compute an Honor Point Deficit
A deficit means that the GPA of the concentration, minor or cumulative average has fallen below the required minimum of 2.0.



How To Take and Finish An Incomplete
If you believe you will not be able to finish the work for a course, you may request a grade of "I" from the instructor. The instructor is under no obligation to grant your request.

How To Transfer to Another School on Campus
To transfer from LSA to another campus unit, you must talk to an admissions representative from that unit. You should be aware that you may lose credits in the process, or may need to take more than 120 credits to complete your degree.
