Lectures & Symposia

The Institute offers several types of events. Most of them are free and open to the public. They are intended for university as well as community audience.

Our weekly Brown Bag lectures cover a wide-range of topics in the humanities and the arts. They are delivered by scholars from many fields, either from UM or other institutions.

We also organize conferences and, once a year, a leading scholar is invited to give the prestigious Jacobson Lecture.

The exhibitions are planned to complement ongoing research and topics studied either by our Fellows or within the University. Opening receptions with gallery talks by artists and/or curators welcome all to engage in this program.

Our Spring Seminars focus on particular topics. Lectures and performances take place over a couple of days, in an elegant setting. These seminars require registration and have a fee.

Our events follow the University academic calendar and will resume in September.
