Fields of Study Professor Meyers is an organic geochemist specializing in oceanography and limnology. He uses molecular and isotopic indicators of the biological origins and diagenetic alterations of organic matter to reconstruct past sedimentary environments. Among his current research interests are glacial-interglacial marine productivity cycles, lacustrine sedimentary paleoclimate histories, depositional conditions forming deep-sea black shales and sapropels.
