About Jason Herlands

Intoxication in Japanese fiction from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s, particularly focused on the representation of drugs through the discourses of history and liberation. One motivation of my project is to try to understand the factors that pushed Japanese authors away from explicit political entanglements in their works starting around this time period.
